I have Substack to thank for introducing me to Dr. Cait Van Damm. If you haven't read her substack, Adventures in vaginas (and other parts), now is the time.
What a treasure she is! Our introductory call was a dream, and I immediately realized how passionate she is about healing people. Her communication style is refreshing, to say the least. She doesn’t shy away from expressing what she feels. Another fun fact that made me like her even more (if possible) is that she is a fellow twin mom. Needless to say, we had a lot in common.

Now that you know a bit about Dr. Cait, let’s dive into some fun questions to get to know her even better.
Making space for myself and movement. My kids (five year old twins) know that this is my time, and my partner knows that he's on primary parent duty. I allow myself to move, feel, rest, do a hard physical thing, and respond to whatever I need for the day.
Lean into yourself. It's totally fine to be weird. In fact, that weirdness will one day be the key to your professional success and personal happiness.
There is a practice I teach called Deep Listening wherein I get into a comfortable and safe position and observe all physical, emotional, and energetic sensations that I'm feeling. I then ask myself the very simple question, "What do I need right now?" and execute accordingly. Usually I need more rest!
My kiddos! That, and being in the Catskill Mountains, where I grew up.
This is Body Grief by Jayne Mattingly. Highly recommended for anyone who lives in a body!
There is this older woman in my life who has incredibly strong, grounded energy. I find that so deeply inspiring and worth emulating! Also, Beyonce.
I love hiking, and often feel most connected to myself and inspired then. I also find a flow state when I'm coaching clients with complex pain using my Embodied Resilience method.
Lastly, my husband and I are always talking and pushing each other to be the best versions of ourselves personally and professionally. I feel so lucky to have that in my everyday experience!
"I believe that bodies are different — full stop. All bodies and brains are welcome in my practice."
